Making A Difference

A college friend introduced the concept of Ikigai, prompting a deeper reflection on how to make a meaningful impact, what topics spark enthusiasm, personal strengths, and ways to serve others. Through this exploration, it became clear that guiding clients in creating estate plans that effectively preserve their legacy and facilitate the desired transfer of wealth is a true calling.

Ikigai, a Japanese concept, translates to “a reason for being.” It represents the intersection of four key elements that contribute to fulfillment and purpose:

  • What one loves (passion)
  • What one is good at (vocation)
  • What the world needs (mission)
  • What one can be paid for (profession)

When these areas align, they form an individual’s ikigai—the ideal balance between personal satisfaction and societal contribution.

For Liza, estate planning embodies all of these aspects, making it a deeply fulfilling and purposeful pursuit.
